Period Power Advocacy Day 2026
Training Sessions M/W beginning on April 20th
Advocacy Day at the NC General Assembly (Raleigh) on Tuesday, May 19th
Join us at the North Carolina General Assembly for a day of advocacy and action! This event is for students who want help raise awareness about period poverty and the need for better access to period supplies. Youth leaders will participate in targeted training sessions in the month leading up to Advocacy Day, working directly with elected officials, lobbyists, and leaders from the National Alliance for Period Supplies to learn:
How to craft powerful outreach to policy makers
Best practices for both traditional and social media advocacy campaigns
Public speaking skills to confidently and effectively engage decision-makers
Youth leaders (8th grade - college) that are interested in participating can apply HERE.
Period Prom - May 17 - 7pm
You’re invited to the First Annual Period Prom – a night of elegance, empowerment, and impact!
Date: May 17, 2025
Time: 7:00 – 10:00 PM
Location: The University Club, Durham
Attire: Think Formal/Semiformal (pink/red prom or prom-like dresses, business suits and tuxes!)
Join us for an unforgettable evening in support of Period Power, the Diaper Bank of NC’s initiative to provide essential menstrual products and fight period poverty across our communities.

Line Dancing Party - May 14 - 6:30-7:30pm
Can’t make it to Period Prom? Want to honor Period Poverty Awareness Week? Or, just learn line dancing in a fun and impactful way? Then grab your partner and a box of tampons because we are dusting off our dancing shoes!

This student-centered event gives you the opportunity to meet with state legislators, raise awareness about period poverty, and advocate for increased access to period supplies for students across NC.
